Our Story

Johan Jooste & Co was established in 1983 by Johan Jooste after successfully completing his articles in 1982. The firm is well known in Durban and the greater Durban area – a community it has been serving for over 30 years.  

Our passion as a firm is to serve the the general public by rendering the best legal advice for our clients at the most affordable fees. The firm consists of a variety of races and religions. We respect one another and work effectively together as a team – in fact, each member in our firm is a member of the family!

Both the Durban and Pinetown offices are situated close to their respective courts, which include the High Court, Regional Court and Magistrate’s Courts, an intentional positioning to allow us to be of the best legal assistance to our clients. This proximity also means that we can be of great assistance to firms in other parts of the country that need to bring matters to the KZN courts. We also have agents in the Durban and Pietermaritzburg bar.

Our fields of expertise include Family Law, drafting of Antenuptial Contracts as well as Co-Habitation Agreements/Domestic Partnership Agreements.  Divorces, Personal injury claims including motor collision, criminal law as well as High Court and Magistrate’s court litigation, including debt collections, Apostille of documents and administration of deceased estates.
